چکیده

We report our most recent progress and demonstration of a frequency domain multiplexing (FDM) readout technology for transition-edge sensor (TES) arrays, both which we have been developing, in the framework X-IFU instrument on board future Athena X-ray telescope. Using Ti/Au TES micro-calorimeters, high-Q LC filters analog/digital electronics developed at SRON low-noise two-stage SQUID amplifiers from VTT Finland, demonstrated feasibility FDM technology, with simultaneous 37 pixels an energy resolution 2.23 eV 6 keV. finally outline plans further scaling up improving technology.

Frequency multiplexed superconducting quantum interference device readout of large bolometer arrays for cosmic microwave background measurements.

A technological milestone for experiments employing transition edge sensor bolometers operating at sub-Kelvin temperature is the deployment of detector arrays with 100s-1000s of bolometers. One key technology for such arrays is readout multiplexing: the ability to read out many sensors simultaneously on the same set of wires. This paper describes a frequency-domain multiplexed readout system wh...

Arrays of MEMS Intertial Sensors with Optical Readout

Microelectromechanical system (MEMS)-based inertial sensors have many advantages over traditional discrete-component-based inertial sensor designs. This is due to their smaller size, batch fabrication, lower cost and higher robustness. Although MEMS-based inertial sensors can withstand high-g accelerations, they are prone to bias instability. This limits their current use to less demanding appl...

A readout for large arrays of microwave kinetic inductance detectors.

Microwave kinetic inductance detectors (MKIDs) are superconducting detectors capable of counting single photons and measuring their energy in the UV, optical, and near-IR. MKIDs feature intrinsic frequency domain multiplexing (FDM) at microwave frequencies, allowing the construction and readout of large arrays. Due to the microwave FDM, MKIDs do not require the complex cryogenic multiplexing el...

Very Low Noise Multiplexing with SQUIDs and SiGe Heterojunction Bipolar Transistors for Readout of Large Superconducting Bolometer Arrays

This paper presents an ultra low noise instrumentation based on a standard BiCMOS SiGe 0.35 μm ASIC operating at cryogenic temperatures. The main functions of the electronic circuit are the readout and the multiplexing of SQUIDs/TES. We report the cryogenic operation of the ASIC dedicated to the readout of a 2x4 pixel demonstrator array. We particularly emphasize on the development and the test...

Pupil plane multiplexing for multi-domain imaging sensors

We describe an approach to polarimetric imaging based on a unique folded imaging system with an annular aperture. The novelty of this approach lies in the system’s collection architecture, which segments the pupil plane to measure the individual polarimetric components contributing to the Stokes vectors. Conventional approaches rely on time sequential measurements (time-multiplexed) using a con...
